Russia launched a large-scale military invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. The bombing hit us at 5 o'clock in the morning. Russian troops advanced to the strategically important Antonov airport in the city of Gostomel, located 20 km northwest of Kyiv. Our shelter is only 8 kilometers from this airport.

The next day, the electricity and water were cut off in our shelter because we were under siege. We are in desperate need of food for our dogs and cats because we are surrounded by invaders. We have been shelled three times and food delivery is impossible.

The suffering of our staff of four people and 700 animals is appalling. Several of our dogs were killed and the property damage is over $30,000.
